"...dedication to safety in the workplace."
Personal Protective Equipment Program
The goal of Connolly-Pacific Co. is to ensure a safe and healthful work environment. In doing so, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is part of providing employees with tools in workplaces with recognized hazards that could cause serious injury or death.
Head, eye, ear, face, hearing, hand, fall, drowning , and respitory protection have long been staples in our PPE arsenal. During 2004, CP further strengthened our PPE program by aquiring Automatic External Defribullator units (AED) for all vessels and operation sites. As part of the deployment, employes were trained on CPR, first aid, and use of AED units under a physician-supervised training program.
CP will continue to review our PPE to progressively add newly released equipment with the potential of contributing to a safer place to work.

AEDs or "Automatic External Defibrillators" are machines, housed in plastic cases the size of a large purse, that can be used to monitor a persons heartbeat and determine if the heart's rhythm is normal. Defribrillators can also deliver life-saving electric shocks to restart the heart or correct an irregular heartbeat. AEDs are designed to be used by non-medical personnel, so cardiac arrest victims don't have to wait for emergency room crews to arrive to receive potentially life saving treatment. |
